Date: 30th April 19:00

Brass Tracks is a professional chamber group, dedicated to making brass music from throughout the ages accessible to audiences young and old, by performing music from the Renaissance period to the present day. Brass Tracks perform in venues that are not just familiar, but also a little unusual, with an aim to not only enthuse and excite, but also to entertain their listeners and release new life and theatre into music which has either been forgotten, played in different contexts, or never had a chance to have a life in the first place.

Brass Tracks was formed as a brass quintet in May of 2013 by trumpeters Finlay Hetherington and John Sampson. They are joined by Robert Newth on french horn, Fiona Lund on trombone and Robert Fraser on tuba. Members come from varied musical backgrounds including theatre, orchestral and chamber music. Based throughout the central belt of Scotland, Brass Tracks meet regularly to learn and rehearse an ever-growing repertoire of music.

Doors open at 6.30 and the concert starts at 7.00.

Les Trois Blondes!

Les Trois Blondes are Scotland’s only Bal Musette band playing classical Parisian cafe music. The show is compèred, telling the audience the story of Bal Musette, particularly during the war years with Edith Piaf, Maurice Chevalier, and the link between Scotland and the genre.

Award winning accordion brothers John and George Burns are joined on the drums by French speaker and compère Fergus Wood. They present a very varied programme which includes foxtrots, tangos, mazurkas and polkas, in addition to waltzes.
